Customized Training
A national insurance company engaged Cambria to design and deliver a customized, hands-on training program to the first and second-level supervisors in its regional branch system. The program was a four-day training simulation designed to engage managers who had received very little formal management training and had not been responsive to traditional lecture and discussion programs. Cambria conducted regional office site visits to capture the real life branch organization, atmosphere and work, all of which was incorporated into the program through role plays, competing demands and activities, paperwork, meetings, events and changes at a realistic, hectic pace. A six-month follow-up evaluation revealed improvements in task prioritization, presentation skills, problem-solving skills, and quality and timeliness. A conservative analysis of the cost-benefit of the simulation, based on reported impact on top and bottom-line from participants, yielded a significant return on investment.
