The “Right Stuff” of 21st Century Leadership

Leading global executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates collaborated with Cambria to release a breakthrough study of new leadership in a dangerous and turbulent world. Interviews with ten incredibly talented and dedicated men and women who are working tirelessly to control and eradicate some of the world’s most devastating diseases provide lessons on how to succeed in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges in a world where politics and “accepted wisdom” often carry the day.

The roles these people play and the competencies they demonstrate provide an inspirational model that is quite different from other studies of leadership. Notwithstanding the context of global healthcare, this study contains important messages about what’s needed for leadership effectiveness in the 21st century. We are proud to share this work with you. Go here to download a copy.

Assessing Leadership Agility: How Strong is Your Talent Bench?

The Leadership Agility 360™ developed by Cambria, in partnership with ChangeWise, is now ready for broad release. Based on the groundbreaking research by Bill Joiner and Stephen Josephs, the original version was field tested last year in leadership development programs conducted by a number of our clients. The new version, available now, is more user-friendly, both for raters and for feedback recipients.

The new Leadership Agility 360 is an online assessment of what many now consider the “master competency” for leading organizational change, improving team performance, and engaging in productive business conversations. The Leadership Agility 360 is available as a 360-degree feedback instrument as well as a leadership bench strength assessment as input to team development and succession planning.

The next certification workshop will be held on October 23-24 in the Boston area. While the workshop is designed to certify coaches, it will also provide an in-depth explanation of the development framework that underpins the Leadership Agility model. Contact us for more information.

Cambria’s Breakthrough New Employee Onboarding Solution

Cambria Interactive (CI) has developed the next generation of new employee onboarding – giving new employees the tools they need to be productive on day one. Going way beyond policies, procedures, company history, and to-do lists, CI has created a truly interactive “total immersion” experience by not only helping new employees get started with the basics, but also introducing them to the key people and the culture of the organization through streaming video, sharing best practices, providing uniform standards for performance and quality, and ensuring consistency on organizational values while accommodating different styles and cultures.

CI’s onboarding solutions are not one-time events but rather “one stop shops” that professionals and managers turn to repeatedly for key tools and resources, “how-to” guides for handling the most challenging aspects of the job, and dialogue with peers and company experts for the latest, most useful advice. Go here to learn more about CI’s state-of-the art new employee onboarding solutions.

PS: Watch for the release of a Harvard Business School video case study demonstrating how Cambria helped a global professional services firm maintain its competitive edge through onboarding new professionals.

Cambria’s Online Development Guides – The Next Generation

Until recently, organizations thought that having a learning management system (LMS) was the answer to their talent development prayer. Unfortunately, most LMSs do not provide the organization and prioritization needed to help individuals achieve their development goals in the most effective manner. By contrast, Cambria’s Online Development Guides offer clients an intuitive and organized way to focus their people on the right things and support their professional growth for the greatest impact.

Unlike other available solutions, Cambria’s Online Development Guides provide the clear connection between what an individual needs to be effective and the learning resources that support successful performance. With Cambria’s optional front-end assessment tool or a guided needs assessment process, people can quickly and easily zero in on their most critical development priorities.

Cambria’s solution also enables truly seamless integration of the organization’s various development resource access points – including enterprise and business unit LMSs, electronic book and learning media libraries, and online learning portals and communities. Cambria’s extensive database of learning resources – which alone is a potent collection of on-demand e-learning programs, classroom offerings, books, articles, multimedia tools, and internet communities – can enhance the offerings that are already part of a client organization’s learning library.

Best Practice Approaches for Self-directed Learning and Development

Breakfast at Cambria: Second in a Series
Cambria Consulting, One Bowdoin Square, Boston MA
October 23, 2008, 8:00-10:30 am

Learning Management Systems (LMS) have been around since the mid-1990s. When they first appeared, having an LMS was no guarantee of connecting employees with impactful learning and development. Since that time, not much has changed: in many organizations, employees are overwhelmed by huge libraries of learning resources and don’t know how to select the ones that will be most beneficial.

Cambria’s Joyce Quindipan, Ray Elman and Steve Neubert will facilitate discussions with invited clients and guests on the emerging challenges and best practices associated with creating truly integrated, self-directed learning and development systems. We will also share examples of how we have helped clients effectively address this need for employees across and at all levels of their organizations. We look forward to an engaging discussion with both pragmatic ideas and solutions.

Contact Joyce Quindipan if you are interested in attending or would like a copy of the proceedings.
