Cambria Consulting helps create and launch a new survey for Business Week to acknowledge 2003 as the ten-year anniversary of Business Week’s first MBA survey by assessing the value of the MBA degree after ten years in the workforce.
BOSTON, Mass. (September 16, 2003) – Cambria Consulting, in collaboration with Business Week magazine, created and launched a new survey acknowledging 2003 as the ten-year anniversary of Business Week’s first MBA survey. The idea was to assess the value of an MBA after 10 years in the workforce. This tied into an emerging debate on the value of an MBA prompted by an article by Jeffrey Pfeiffer, a leading professor at Stanford Business School. In addition to standard questions on job history, salary, lifestyle and perceptions of the value of an MBA, Cambria suggested that this survey include a set of questions on new business start-ups and job creation. The survey results indicated that MBAs clearly have a major impact on the creation of new businesses and new jobs.
Cambria Consulting supports Business Week in the design and administration of large- scale surveys that assess top MBA and executive education programs across the country. In 1998, Cambria facilitated the process of moving conventional paper surveys online. In succeeding years, an increasingly collaborative relationship developed, with Cambria expanding its role in shaping the content and strategy of the surveys.
Cambria continues its work with Business Week’s biannual survey of the best business schools and executive education programs as well as provides additional large-scale surveys for major corporations. Look for the 2003 Best MBA programs due out in October, “What’s an MBA Really Worth?”
