Cambria Launches New e-Learning Program at Manheim

(September 13, 2005) – Cambria Consulting, a leader in state-of-the-art human resource and learning applications, announces the release of an innovative e-learning program focused on training a suite of field jobs at Manheim Auctions, an industry leader in wholesale auto auctions with more than 115 auction facilities and 35,000 employees worldwide.
Manheim Auctions went to Cambria looking for help in organizing and implementing best practices across a large number of diverse and geographically dispersed auctions, each with their own unique processes and procedures. The target role for this initiative was the Block Clerk, who sits at the right hand of the Auctioneer and records the winning bid for each vehicle, the amount and the dealer who purchased the vehicle, as well as all other transaction details. Cambria’s mix of capabilities in job analysis, learning theory and Flash design fueled the development of the Manheim Block Clerks e-Learning Program. This e-learning solution allows Manheim to promote best practices easily across the organization. It also provides a centralized knowledge center for training content created in the field across the nation.
Cambria’s mission in developing the Manheim Block Clerks e-Learning Program was to engage the learners with a fun, dynamic experience while thoroughly preparing them for their roles in the hectic, high pressure auction environment. To accomplish this goal, Cambria teamed its creative Flash design resources with its learning experts to develop a visual template for the delivery of information, photographs and video. These elements combine to present critical and detailed information while offering the learner a genuine “feel” for what it’s like to work in this unique setting. Learners walk through “A Typical Day” on the job, learn about key tools and systems, discover how the best Block Clerks do their job, and even watch animated cartoons act out examples of what can happen when Block Clerks react in both problematic and effective ways. The modules end in short quizzes which test the learner’s knowledge of the material and suggest areas they may want to revisit based on quiz results.
