The Coaching Impact Study™

Quote 2

In 2004, Cambria launched the first ongoing study of the impact of executive coaching in Fortune 500 companies. Since then, we have invited businesses and government entities engaged in coaching to participate in our survey. Our first findings were presented in 2005 at the annual conference of the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology, and have been updated annually. More recently, a review of our methodology and major findings to date was published in the International Journal of Coaching in Organizations (2006 v4i3). Please ask us for a free copy of the article at info@cambriacoaching.com

Participating organizations include Wachovia, Credit Suisse, Deloitte, Citigroup, Booz Allen Hamilton, and UBS. Cambria invites any organization currently managing coaching activity to participate in the study.

Study participants identify the coaching engagements and their stakeholders – coaches, coachees and their managers, as well as their HR contacts – who are asked to respond to an online survey at both the outset and the conclusion of the engagement. Our data collection is concise, minimally intrusive and simple. Participating organizations are also asked to make a nominal financial contribution to cover our data collection, analysis, reporting and publication costs.

For their partnership, participating organizations receive:

  • A summary report based upon an analysis of the responses from their program
  • A benchmark report aggregating all results, including summaries of episodes and outcomes, a success factor assessment, and an analysis of costs, benefits and ROI
  • The opportunity to take part in presentations and publications of study data, contributing to vital research in our evolving field

To find out how your coaching investment measures up, Cambria invites you to participate in the Coaching Impact Study™.
